Staff at the Institute

The Institute is managed by Dr. Larissa Ribo, a senior specialist in oncology and breast cancer. At her side are senior oncologists with a variety of subspecialties. Residents in the department work under their guidance, with the aim of training the next generation of oncologists. Along with physicians, the unit is staffed by our experienced nursing, technical and support personnel.

Physicians in the Institute of Oncology treat all types of cancer using a wide variety of existing methods. They also collaborate with physicians in other hospital departments by holding joint meetings to discuss each patient and determine the best course of treatment. The Institute staff also engages in advanced research and teaching in collaboration with Ben-Gurion University.

Says Ribo: “I am glad to say that local residents who had been forced to deal with long waiting periods and lengthy trips to receive oncological treatment can finally be helped by treatment programs that are effective, available, and accessible. The Institute of Oncology provides professional care – and, just as importantly, it’s humane. Furthermore, it’s important to us that we engage in research and training, in order to advance oncology in Israel.”
